Prayer
is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is
lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility,
and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer
is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of God through
God’s Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Say a quiet yes to God and God’ll be there in no time. James 4:8 (The Message)
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
